Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment
Advanced Natural Medicine has wide-ranging clinical applications in mental health care and psychological conditions.
THIS TREATMENT’S AIM IS TO GREATLY IMPROVE AND ERADICATE OCD
I have been devoting many years researching the latest methods in Natural Medicine for OCD, and have found that the results have been extremely good. Much of my post-grad studies have been in this direction. Its a special interest of mine, and its been very satisfying to see so many major improvements in my patients whom I’ve been treating for OCD.
So why consider Natural Medicine for OCD?
In my clinical experience, most people with OCD find that the usual chemical drug treatments have a limited effect, and therefore would like to try a dirrent approach. Conventional psychiatric drugs often have side effects. This has caused many people to seek assistance outside the mainstream realm of therapy.
In fact in my 29 years of experience, conducting over 45,000 consultations I have found the most deeply acting & most effective system of medicine for OCD to be Advanced Homoeopathy. There are many different Rare Plant & Natural Element Medicines which can be safely used, with very satisfying results.
Homoeopathy in my experience is the most advanced & effective system of Natural Medicine. This branch of medicine originally & historically became very well-known because of the excellent results which were achieved in Homeopathic Psychiatric Hospitals.
What’s the major Difference in these two systems of medicine?
Basically, pharmaceuticals are used to manipulate brain chemistry and are often recommended for life. Homoeopathy ideally aims at naturally balancing your entire mind/body dynamic. I could write pages on this subject, however not to digress. Homoeopathy is also highly individualised and in my experience, when it works at its best, the results have been very satisfying for the patients, and often the patient’s family.
Darren Grech incorporates contemporary methods in OCD treatment using the latest in Natural Medicine. During a consultation you will have the opportunity to explain your problems in depth. The treatment is fully individualised as no two people’s OCD is exactly the same and needs a different Natural Medicine. (This is not an Over-The-Counter style of supplements- this is very different to that. This treatment is completely individualised, matched for the persons whole state & condition.)
Basically the factors which cause disease (on any level, physical, emotional & mental) are ;
- our life experiences and events which have an impact on us
- how we feel and react to life’s stress or worries
- our family inheritance factors
- past infectious events which can also trigger nervous system effects (this treatment also works on addressing this potential factor)
- gradual toxin exposures over years can also be involved, which we work on clearing
- iatrogenic processes (suppressing the body’s response with drugs/medications for various conditions).

It is the combination of all the above factors which contribute to one’s illness and mental conditions are no exception. Homoeopathy can be an effective system of medicine for OCD which considers all these factors. It is a system of medicine which truly takes into consideration all symptoms which effect an individual on multiple levels; physical, emotional and mental.
During a consultation apart from how you feel physically, a complete understanding of how you are emotionally and mentally is explored. In some cases there are very strong mental and emotional symptoms that might include anger, anxieties, worries, fears and depression etc. All these symptoms are usually covered in the homoeopathic prescription when selecting the appropriate Natural Medicine and a treatment plan is given to help reduce their intensity and recurrence.
Because of this holistic approach, you will often feel much better within yourself, and gain other improvements in physical problems you may have as well. A client for example, may come for OCD & Anxiety as their main complaint and also suffer from say, headaches. During treatment, it will often be experienced that the OCD & Anxiety & the headaches become greatly improved.
How long does it take to get better?
This varies with individuals. In my experience, most patients have felt improvements within the first 1-4 weeks. Then week by week the condition gradually becomes less intense, until one is very satisfied with their mental & emotional state.
Homoeopathic medicine can be taken in conjunction with antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs. Most patients who come for treatment are able to gradually & safely reduce their medications. (I always advise that the patient discuss this with their psychiatrist.) Some patients want to continue on their pharmaceutical drugs and combine the Natural Medicine appraoch, which has also been benifical. We can also help reduce the side effects of conventional drug medications. Some patients with OCD are not on pharmaceuticals and would like to try this natural approach first. Further information regarding this process will be discussed during the consultation.
What is obsessive-compulsive disorder?
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a condition where you have recurring obsessions, compulsions, or both.
What are obsessions?
Obsessions are unpleasant thoughts, images, or urges that keep coming into your mind. Obsessions are not simply worries about your life problems. Common obsessions include:
– Fears about contamination with dirt, germs, viruses (eg HIV), etc.
– Worries about doors being unlocked, fires left on, causing harm to someone, etc.
– Intrusive thoughts or images of swearing, blasphemy, sex, someone harmed, etc.
– Fear of making a mistake or behaving badly.
– A need for exactness in how you order or arrange things.
– A compulsion to collect things that others might throw away (hoarding).
These are examples. Obsessions can be about all sorts of things. Obsessive thoughts can make you feel anxious or disgusted. You normally try to ignore or suppress obsessive thoughts; for example, you may try to think other thoughts to neutralise the obsession.
What are compulsions?
Compulsions are thoughts or actions that you feel you must do or repeat. Usually the compulsive act is in response to an obsession. A compulsion is a way of trying to deal with the distress or anxiety caused by an obsession. For example, you may wash your hands every few minutes in response to an obsessional fear about germs. Another example is you may keep on checking that doors are locked, in response to the obsession about doors being unlocked. Other compulsions include repeated cleaning, counting, touching, saying words silently, arranging and organising – but there are others as well.
